Business Owners Say People Should "Buy Triad First"
Date:
September 28, 2009 "Buy Triad First" is encouraging people to buy at least $50 worth of products from local businesses every month. President Dottie Cooke says every little bit makes a difference for the businesses and the economy here in the Triad. "If you spend $100 in a locally owned store, $68 dollars stays in the community. If you shop in a box store, $42 stays in the community. And if you shop on the internet, no money stays in the community. So its important we support our local retailers and local restaurants."
"Buy Triad First" is affiliated with a national campaign called the 3/50 project. It's about saving brick and mortar businesses around the nation.
Local business owners are encouraged at attend a Buy Triad First meeting. It's tonight at 6:30 pm at the Caldwell room of the O'Henry Hotel in Greensboro.
