More Local Resources
As an advocacy and networking organization, Triad Local First collaborates with and champions a number of initiatives and organizations that share our goal of building a thriving, distinctive community.
Triad Local First is a member of Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE), North America's fastest growing network of socially responsible businesses, comprised of over 80 community networks with over 21,000 independent business members across the U.S. and Canada. BALLE brings together independent business leaders, economic development professionals, government officials, social innovators, and community leaders to build local living economies. We provide local, state, national, and international resources to this new model of economic development.
NC 10% Campaign www.ncsu.edu/project/nc10percent
The goal of the 10% Campaign is straightforward: Encourage consumers to commit 10 percent of their existing food dollars to support local food producers, related businesses and communities. The 10% Campaign promotes North Carolina's farmers, foods, communities and businesses; educates consumers, decision-makers and the media; and collaborates with the many influential organizations/initiatives already in the field and those just beginning to bloom.
Piedmont Grown www.piedmontgrown.org
Piedmont Grown is a certification program that wants to make sure that farm products grown, raised, and made in the Piedmont Region are clearly identified and promoted everywhere you buy food and farm fresh products. Our Mission is to promote local food systems through the certification of food and farm products grown or raised in 37 counties in the North Carolina Piedmont Region. We want to link consumers to local farm fresh foods, build local markets for farmers and food entrepreneurs, and grow healthy and prosperous communities.
Greensboro Cash Mob facebook.com/CashMobGreensboro
Get social, shop local! The general idea of cash mobs is to encourage people to go into small, local businesses and spend their money, en masse, to give the business owner a little bit of economic stimulus. We help businesses grow, we make people happy, we get stuff for ourselves, have a great time, and maybe we celebrate afterward with food and drink.
