We’re forging a makerspace in Greensboro, NC, and we need you to help us create it.
A makerspace (sometimes known as a hackerspace) is a collection of people who like to take apart, rebuild, or create new things. If you would like to build your world, then you have a place here.
We are a new group within a larger movement. For more information about the makerspace concept in general, visit the wikipedia article on hackerspaces, and also take a look at hackerspaces.org.
While makerspaces come in a variety of forms, our group has a fairly specific vision for our space. We plan to divide our future space into both “hard” space and “soft” space. The hard space will be setup for wood working, metal working, and similar activities. The soft space will be an open clean area for things like programming, electronics work, and 3d printing. We are also looking to have amenities like a full kitchen.
If you’d like to be involved in the process of forging our space, please come to one of our open houses on the first and third thursday’s of the month or email firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
